DeWALT DG6000E Heavy Duty 6000 Watt Gas Generator with Electric Start

DeWalt portable generators are built around the reliability of Honda OHV engines, the DG6000E 5,000 rated watt electric start generator using an 11-horsepower Honda GX Series model.

The DG6000E, as with most DeWalt generators was designed specifically for the jobsite with a job-site-tested frame, panel protection bars, and metal fuel tank to protect the generator from everyday demand.

The brushless alternator virtually eliminates maintenance and provides 165 percent surge capacity, ideal for starting high amp tools, including compressors.

A wheel kit and lifting hook, which come as standard equipment allow the DG6000E to be easily moved around the job site.

Contractors assisted in the design of the panel layout and the selection of the receptacles to ensure that their most common requirements were satisfied.

The DG6000E is identical to the DG6000 but for the addition of the electric start components and battery housing.

Briggs & Stratton 1654 5500 Watt Portable Generator

You do not become the biggest air cooled engine maker in the world without having a decent engine or two in your arsenal. Briggs and Stratton are the biggest air cooled engine manufacturer and they do have a couple of decent engines to their name. The Vanguard series engines, which power their professional line of portable generators, are about as good as it gets when it comes to air cooled commercial grade engines. And Intek engines, which power their residential Elite series of portable generators for less demanding home use applications.

The 1654 5500 watt generator is powered by a 10 HP Briggs and Stratton Intek engine and is designed for the occasional running demands encountered in a residential setting and so runs at a reduced noise level. The 1654 generator comes fully equipped with a weather protected control panel consisting of 5 convenient outlets and with a pneumatic wheel kit for quick maneuvering.

Porter-Cable BSI550-W 5,500 Watt Generator with 10 HP Engine

At the heart of the Porter-Cable BSI550-W is a 10HP, overhead-valve Briggs and Stratton engine that delivers 5,500 continuous running watts, with a 9,000-surge-watt capacity. The BSI550-W runs for a respectable 13.2 hours at half load and 8.1 hours at full load on one fill of the 7-gallon fuel tank.

For the price you have to pay, which is often considerably less than $1000, the BSI550-W is packed with many of the same features found on portable generators costing 2 or 3 times as much.

Cast-iron cylinder sleeves, low-oil protection, an all-ball-bearing brushless alternator, semi pneumatic wheels, dual voltage receptacles, outlet circuit breakers, vibration minimizing rubber mounts, fold down handles all come as standard on a unit that you will find indispensable at home during a power outage or running a few tools or appliances at a remote location.
