At 66 pounds, the Yamaha YG2800i is considerably lighter than most other portable generators in the 2kW range. A multipole rotor and a pulse width modulation inverter has allowed Yamaha Engineers to create one of the highest power to weight generators on the market.
The lightweight design dose not come at the expense of noise levels where again the YG2800i is ultra competitive with others in its class on rated power and even quiter at lower power levels as an electrical governor adjusts the engine RPM's and output power levels to match the demand.
